miniMOOC for k-12 Students, Parents and Teachers

My name is Verena Roberts. I am a 21st century parent, teacher and learner. I am working to create a FREE open online course (miniMOOC) called "My Digital Footprint" starting July 2012.

The course is aimed at "Family" and "Team" participation. Learn together about digital identity in an open online environment. Are you a cutting edge, passionate about open online learning and educational change type of person? Would you like to collaborate with me? We are looking for guest lecturers (students and teachers) for weekly slots. The lecturers would need a 15-30 minute online presentation (For Blackboard/Collaborate) prepared with an online activity that could be created throughout the week by the participants. We are also looking for team players who would like to collaborate on the "idea and design" a FREE open online courses for a k-12 audience.

The dates of the course are July 5, 2012 - August 16, 2012

This will be a 6 week course with a strong focus on digital identity, social media and networking and web tools and the last week will be spent on participant's presentations.

No accreditation - you will get a badge and you will learn "how to learn" with each other. All types of participation will be welcome!

Our goal is to ...break the "digital divide" by offering everyone Tech Savvy skills for the future of Education....

You will be connected (based on your comfort level) through twitter, RSS feeds, possibly MightyBell and in many other spontaneous ways. Classroom 2.0 will be part of the home "portal" for the project - so check back for more details!!!!.

All participants will be encouraged to use an anonymous username.
