Moodle question

Can you help me on how to use the multiple choice short answer question in moodle? When I choose that it says to pick the number of questions, then when I click on save it says there are none like that in that category, but that is what I am trying to create. Yes. I am confused.

Perhaps you have a different version or what you are looking at is an add-on. Is this in the quiz module? I don't see this as a question type in the drop down list.

Just on the off chance that you might mean random short-answer matching', I know what would be throwing it off. The random short answer matching will randomly pull from short answer questions that you have already added to the category question bank. It will then turn those into a matching exercise. Even if yours is not the random short answer matching question type, it may be a similar phenomenon. You may need to enter some short answer question types in and then use the multiple choice short answer question type to throw the randomizing element in to it.

Yes, the random short answer is what I want. Sorry for mislabeling. I have three short answer questions in the category question bank. When I choose the random short answer question type, it simply tells me that I don't have any appropriate questions in the category. Could you clarify what you mean about " then use multiple choice short answer question type to throw in the randomizing element"?
