Multicultural Literature Suggestions

I'm currently putting together a new curriculum for a high school English class focused on multicultural literature, and I was wondering if anyone had recommendations for novels, short stories or poems that I should consider.  I'm currently planning on doing literature circles with a few YA novels, and then also doing a few shorter pieces.  I have limited experience with multicultural lit.  I know that I want to stick with multicultural American writers who write about multicultural American themes (African American, Hispanic/Latino American, Asian American, and Native American).  I'm also open to suggestions about Middle Eastern American (?) writers.
