For a few years I used the software Starry Night Backyard with my 8th Grade Astronomy students. We used it for learning seasons, some constellations and for the motion of objects in the solar system.

My IT tells me it can no longer be installed (I did have a lab pack for it but it is something technical). I am wondering if anyone has a web-based alternative.

I have found one possibility so far.

This might work well for the few things I need to cover with the students.

Does anyone know of any others?

Have you had a look at Google Sky? http://www.google.com/sky/
It is pretty cool. Even cooler though is Google Sky Maps....if you hold your Android based mobile device up to the sky, it will identify the starts above you "live"...kind of amazing.
