I am preparing to tutor a pre-adolescent child who is still acquiring phonics.  I hope to integrate some digital technologies into my intervention plan as a way to reduce the social stigma often experienced by older, struggling readers.

The reading center at my university just acquired a set of iPads, and I would appreciate hearing from the Classroom 2.0 community about age-appropriate apps for intermediate-level readers, ages 10 and up.  I already browsed the forums and found several discussions about early and emergent readers.  How about older children?

Hello Jennifer,

I have developed an app called Phonics and Reading which was designed for struggling students and more specifically struggling older students. There is also a lite version which you can try for free.
