I just put a QR code on my classroom door to link to my web page.  What are you doing with QR codes in your classrooms? Paula

What is the QR Code. why you are using it in the classroom.

Quick Response codes

They are like a bar code. Students scan the code and it leads them to a url, text, video etc.

Out of curiosity, do you have your webpage URL listed too?

Yes, I also listed the web page: http://www.ndreadon.com/langdon.htm

I also have the School District QR code posted. This weekend I made codes for messages and videos.

You Tube has many ideas for integration with QR Codes as well as Google Docs. Here is another link for ideas:http://livebinders.com/play/play/51894

What is Soapbox?

I love the idea of QR Codes.  The notion that they are essentially hyperlinks that we, in the physical world, can "click" on and be taken to content in the virtual world is fantastic.  As an aspiring teacher, I would love to integrate QR codes into my future classroom.  How else have you been using them?  More importantly, how have your students responded to their use?

I used http://qrcode.kaywa.com/ to create my QR Codes.

I have used that too. I made a QR code to put into a boyd's bear (stuffed animal like flat stanley) page which pointed to pertinent content. This way it didn't weigh the bag down. I paid to mail that bear and bag to the next classroom - saved me $ !

If you are a Google Chrome user you can get the goo.gl URL shortener extension. When it shortens a URL it also give you the option to create a QR code.

Pretty handy little extension that lives next to your address bar in the Chrome browser.

Thanks, I will check it out. Paula
