My district has decided to purchase the revised "Investigations" elementary math program. We have been using the previous edition. I'm wondering if anyone has experience with this program and looking for ideas and tips for implementing the program. I would live to hear any advice from professional development ideas to classroom management tips!

Hi Sally,

We offer some tutorials and webinars for getting started with Investigations which perhaps you'd find useful. They're complimentary on http://www.mypearsontraining.com.

Cheers,

Claire
Hi Sally,

I had the opportunity to use "Investigations" last fall during my student teaching ina second grade classroom. I LOVED the program! At first I was very hesitant to use it because everything was scripted and layed out for you. However, there were also a lot of hands- on activities and "games" for the children. I found that these activities increased positive student behavior and engaged almost all students. It was also helpful because these activities allowed for students of all abilities to understand the concepts being taught. Overall, I think the program was wonderful, it just takes some getting used to.
