Scaling Education and Training with Web 2.0 + E-learning tools

I plan on adding ideas like using micro-learning videos using vimeo (perhaps youtube or viddler) And perhaps including Teacher Tube, School Tube, and 5 minutes.

Also using open source tools like Moodle or Sakai. Also wikis and blogs as tools.

The 3 readers I'm recommending are Google, iGoogle, and Feedly.

I plan on using the hub and spokes model which aggregates content from distributed locations as well as information dashboards like Netvibes and Protopages (although I think the later is the lowest value for this particular project, even though I think info dashboards as a whole can be very helpful for aggregating ideas).

I'm also proposing some Twitter and Friendfeed use, although I don't see it as a core platform in this e-learning project.

I'm hoping to use Blooms motified taxonomy as the basis of the . I will likely incorporate some aspects of social and emotional learning as well as constructivism. (finding or identifying any examples which have done a good job of this would be fantastic--I know the tools and the philosophy/theory far better than I know exact models to examine and model from)

Thoughts?

I can use all the ideas I can get. Thanks for reading and helping!!!!

Nathan,
Wow … that’s an ambitious move. Even if you are well versed in these applications, be prepared to move gently. What grade/age level are you working with? I am an elder teacher so to speak, with a love of integrating technology into my instruction. Before you bite off a chunk, be sure to have a plan as to how you are going to introduce and fully utilize each application. Then add pieces and parts in increments and use simple steps. Not every tool is works with every user. I wish you loads of success and look forward to hearing about your progress. You can run, but choose wisely, a sprint and a marathon are met with success using the correct strategy.
