I was wondering what software other schools use to manage say scheduling, or report cards, progress reports, anything and everything. I know the common one is blackboard, but that tends to be a little expensive. Has anyone heard of crosspointe? what do you use at your school?

Any input would be great.

My district used pinnalce gradebook. It is web based. Some of the features are parent viewer, seating charts, many types of reports including report cards, progress, attendance, etc., etc. http://www.excelsiorsoftware.com/index.aspx

Progress book is another web based application that does many of the aplications that you mentioned.
The New Technology Foundation is working on a very unique collaborative learning environment that is specifically designed to support project based learning and 21st Century skills. It also allows member schools to share projects and curriculum ideas. http://www.newtechfoundation.org
I'd love to learn more about what you're looking for.

I'm a former 7th grade teacher and recently joined Software Answers- the makers of ProgressBook. The application combines the teacher grade book, attendance, lesson planner, progress reports, report cards, and parent portal.

If you're interested, you can see product demo videos at http://www.progressbook.com.
