This is an introduction to the free programming language Scratch and its website/repository/social area. First there will be an introduction to the programming features that are unique to Scratch. After that, the presenter will log on to Scratch's website and give a tour. Then participants will view student and teacher projects to discuss to the possibility of classroom use. Finally, each participant will be encouraged to register on the website and look for projects they like to use as an introduction of Scratch use in their classrooms.

Sounds Fun - I ran an after school tech club for 6th graders centered around Scratch for 5 months this year. The kids absolutely loved it.
T
I used Scratch with students grade 1-7 this year. First grade animated a fieldtrip that they took. Second grade animated one of their health outcomes. Third and fourth grade only animated their names. Fifth grade animated their assigned Spanish explorer. Sixth grade animated anything out of their Chapter 7 Social Studies book. And 7th grade animated their research country. The kids like it.
