I am evaluating how I evaluate daily activities in class and am thinking about getting a tablet so that I can record my thought on student work while walking around the room.
I do not want an iPad, and am looking for a simple tablet that I can use for internet, no bells and whistles needed. I have looked at the Nook Color, but there is also the Cruz for $249, and I just found the PocketBook $149.

Do you have any recommendations? Which would you get?

I would go for an Android Tablet not necessarily a costly one.  Really you could use an android phone as well. I would suggest one with a larger screen touch preferably like HTC Evo, Dell Streak or others in that realm.

The price would be less half the cost of an ipad and you have a variety of apps that would work for you. You can also build you own app that suits your needs if your so inclined. There is a free app program I currently downloaded call grades and it has a to do list, profile, schedule, courses, etc.

I am defiantly going for an android option. I use Moodle in my classes so the gradebook part is taken care of.
