Empowering parents will help alleviate the fear around social media and guide them into understanding the transformative power of these tools.  In addition, we will outline the time management  and public relation benefits of utilizing social media to communicate with parents. Finally, we will look at how creating a connected family-school culture will help us tap into the power of our school communities. Hopefully - with the right communication - parents will become our allies in making sure that school districts value social media tools and make them available for teachers and students alike.
