Dear all,

I am conducting a study on the usability of web 2.0 tools of which Classroom 2.0 is one:

Please, can you share what your experience is like on how usable this tool is, in learning, especially in your own domain.

Thanks and regards.

I am not quite sure what your study is trying to achieve Emmanuel.

Classroom 2.0 is very easy to use - but I think it's a shame the front page is full of so many threads with so few replies - I'm sure that wasn't the case when I first started using it. Maybe I am looking back with rose-tinted spectacles!

I know from my own blog statistics that there are plenty of readers here who do not post - as is the case on online forums everywhere.

Hi Young, my study is in line with your observation. It also include how this tool in used in class. Is it usable? Is it easy to learn for both teachers and students? Is it satisfying to both the teachers and the students using it? Do teachers and students make mistakes while performing tasks on it? Are users (teachers and students) motivated to use it?  What about the efficiency of use( i.e. the time taken to access & do activities and use the tool) etc. It also include like you pointed out the user interface. Is it attractive,? How easy is it for users to interact with it i.e. Is it interactive? etc.

Emmanuel, Classroom 2 is a forum primarily for educators it's not something I would use in class with students.

Hi Young, Thanks. But your observations on the above things I outlined above will still be appreciated as it pertains to your using this tool with your fellow educators. Regards.

(It's Colleen!)

For me this is just a forum, that's its function - it is easy to use, clean & simple interface, very reliable. I can take part in conversations here if I wish, it is easy to post a link if I wish to. I don't use any of the other facilities so can't comment further. For example I know one can write blog posts but I have my own WordPress blog so don't need or want that facility.

Oh, thanks alot. I  am grateful for your participation in this discussion. It is greatly appreciated.

Bye Colleen.

Well, here I would like to share my experience of using classroom 2.0 for my action research as a part of my B. Ed course. I did find it very interesting and interactive but the only concern is about the time it takes to approves anyone request. When I tried to involve my classmates by sending them request to join classroom 2.0, and when they signed up for the same it took almost a day to get approval. So , it was bit difficult to get them on board at a specific time.

Hi, Kusum Rawat,

Thanks for your observations and contribution to the discussion.

Best regards.

Emmanuel.
