Web 2.0 and Service Learning

I work for a non-profit that teaches students the importance of civic responsibility and community involvement.
We are currently in the process of upgrading our website to integrate more Web 2.0 applications (social network, wiki, ect)

I was wondering if anyone else used Web 2.0 int his way and if they had any suggestions.
