What are your thoughts on after school programs for teens?

We're looking to get feedback from teacher,s counselors, and parents of teens regarding your impression of the importance (or lack thereof) of after school and summer programs. And why? Please let me know what you think. All feedback welcome!

After school teens get some free time in that you should involve them in those type of activity, by which they can get betterment in their social and educational activity.

From my experience, participation in summer programs is a brilliant way to receive extra knowledge and practice, take part in different activities and develop skills.
