More and more in the classroom, we are adding all sorts of technology.  The Smart Boards are very popular, and it is also becoming popular to have your laptop with you in class so that you can type up your notes.  Is this a good thing?  Should we have our classrooms full of all sorts of technology so that in the end, paper and pencil become obsolete?  I am not a big fan of technology, mostly because it is not a big fan of me, but I am afraid that one day, kids will not be able to recognize hand writing.  Already cursive is foreign to this new generation that is coming through the schools.  Being able to visually see and remember what you have written with your hand is a form of learning, and if we let it die, then we are letting those kids, who are most helped by the writing, down.
