Ok, so I'm going back on Twitter.  I tried before and didn't like it, but I think it was because I wasn't happy with who I was following.  So, who do you follow and what kind of tweets are they sending out?  Topics and such...

I recommend you visit the blogs you enjoy, and begin by following those folks first; most have Twitter accounts. On Twitter itself, you can also search for topics of interest, which in turn will direct you to some folks to follow.

Definitely take it slow, preview the posts of tweeters before following, and don't be afraid to unfollow someone whose tweets you find annoying, offensive, or unproductive.

I'm @keithschoch, and I tweet about teaching with picture books, teaching with novels, and to a lesser degree, online technology apps for instruction. Check out the people I follow, as most of them are way more interesting and intelligent than me. Than I? You see what I mean...

I'm very interested in your tweets about online technology apps for instruction so I have just started following you.
Here is a list of prominent educators and opinion-leaders I follow (I will constantly update this list). You can try following this list to get a feel if these would be people you would want to follow (or organize into lists).

Welcome back to Twitter, Katie. Feel free to follow the channel that I’m on (@HP_Edu). I agree with the above suggestions. Here’s a list of hashtags related to education that you may find helpful (http://bit.ly/fkaeHK). I would search for these hashtags on search.twitter.com and see who are using them.

A couple blog posts that you may find helpful in your classsrom:

These are some of my favorites. http://wefollow.com/twitter/edtech Tweeting about educational technology. Don't think I made the list ;-) but I'm @tamralanning > I have never regretted the time I put into building my Twitter PLN. It has been an extremely valuable component of my professional development.
