Many years ago when I was teaching SpEd I worked with Co:writer and loved it.  Now I'm back in SpEd and am trying to get up to date on assistive tech.  I have a student with a learning disability and physical impairment.  I know Co:writer is still tops, but are there any PC platform freeware products I could try with this student before spending the $$ on Co:writer to know if it will be a good fit for him?

Check out Google Scribe (with Google Docs, Email, etc) -  here are some articles to read:

And there is a Google Chrome Browser extension.   I haven't spent much time playing with it, but it's free!
