Hi there,
I recently graduated from university, and am currently in my first year of teaching. I teach elementary music half time (grades 1-6) and Core French half time (grades 4-8) in PEI. I started a blog this year, and am part of the 100 Music Education Bloggers campaign. To visit my blog, go to: http://msgallant.edublogs.org

@Patrick -- I'm sure you have looked at these, but I always try to come up with something when a request is made:

CBC archives for a historical perspective
Ongoing list of Social Media Examples in the Auto and Car Industry -- a list of blogs set up by manufacturers as "social media marketing?" I guess they didn't work!
CAW press releases, etc. website
ShopFloor (NAM)

Hope these might be of interest -- but then I'm taking a high school teacher's POV.

Hi Sue and thanks for the invitation. I'm an instructional designer for distance education courses at the univeristy of Guelph and I teach Labour Relations F2F there. I also teach in the B.Ed. (AdEd) program online & F2F fro Brock University part time.

I'm looking forward to exchanging ideas on classroom (virtual and on ground) issues, design issues and problem solutions. During the break I am updating my media resources about labour relations in Canada particularly about the current issues facing the auto industry and manufacturing in general. Anyone have any current, interesting resources they would like to share?
Happy New Year!!

@ Pat, The map is quite fussy, for sure. If you scroll down on that side bar with the avatar pictures, you'll find the question mark guy with your name. If you are logged into the Ning, the callout should say "You!" and a yellow callout will pop up on the map with "edit this pin". Click on that and you should be able to make the changes you want. Good luck!

I'm Pat. I live on a small island in the Bay of Fundy (highest tides in the world) called Grand Manan. I teach Grade 7 in the community school here.

When I first joined this, I just quickly put my name and location on the map. Now I don't know how to edit it, and add my pic and bio. Help?

Hello fellow Canadians. I am currently not in a school but have taken a year off to explore Canada and the USA, hopefully to learn a bit about what is happening on the educational technology front. My partner and I have been teaching out of Canada for the past 4 years and have lost touch with what is "normal practice" here, and abnormal interests me, too. We are driving around in a big Chevy van, our motel on wheels, with no fixed itinerary. I am looking for folks who would invite me into their school or classrooms to share firsthand how they are using technology with their students or for themselves professionally. At the wonderfully low price of gas these days (62 cents in Ottawa yesterday!) we figure this is the time to see Canada by road. It looks like we might be in Manitoba and heading west in February. If you would like a visitor or have insight of who I should contact, drop me a comment. Cheers, Bryan

Hi all,
I'm enjoying our break and the crazy weather here in the Comox Valley of Vancouver Island. The Canadian Blog Awards helped me find Drawn! The Illustration and Cartooning Blog http://drawn.ca/ a few years back when it won best new blog or something: Dave, check it out! Dave was one of the folks who first inspired me to start blogging last Spring. My own blog is dormant (not dead :) ) while my class and student blogs take my focus.
Looking forward to the dialogue with you. Cheers!

Can anyone help James out with a Desktop Publishing Curriculum?

And to anyone who put up their location on the map without a picture or a name -- please include a name or a photo of some sort. There seem to be a lot of unidentified people from unidentified places and the map is getting stuck on for some reason. The problem is that I can't tell from the members’ list which anonymous hits are real people and which were just false starts. The company does not differentiate members unless there is a picture or a name. Location only is not enough to help me know which entries are not real ones. THANKS!!!!

Hello all,
I am pre-service teacher at the University of Regina. I'm in the secondary education program with a focus on business education and physical education. I'm very interested in web2.0 and educational technology. I have my own blogfolio and a business education wiki. Check out my page to see more info.

Hi Sue,
I did it.... thanks for the directions. I am grade one teacher in Quebec. I am actually a transplant from the States but am a Canadian citizen now. I teach at an English school and most of the students are francophones. I have a classroom blog and welcome any ideas or classes to collaborate with. At the moment it is just a class blog but I would like to learn how to set up my kids to do their own blogging.
