Hello Tammy, sorry it took so long to reply. I am interested in learning both CS3 and CS4. Since my school is on a budget freeze I am not anticipating an upgrade to CS3 or CS4 any time soon. When we do finally upgrade my hopes are that we will be suing CS4 but it may be CS3 so I want to learn that first then begin doing more in CS3.

Stephen, I am jumping in new to the Adobe products with CS4. I am finding a lot of resources for CS3 as I am gathering CS4 tutorials. Some of the best free resources can be found via iTunes. ITunes can be downloaded free to your PC or Msc. Once you have it on, go to the podcast section of the iTunes store and do a search for Adobe and each of the component names (Illustrator, Photoshop, F;ash). You will find several terrific podcasts that will deliver right to your application.

Lynda.com has a bunch of tutorials too. Many are free. If you like what they have you can pay about $25/month and get access to everything they have.

Adobe TV can be accessed through the Adobe website. Those are free as well.

If you are more booking than video-ish, I recommend the 'Miissing Manual' series. They have a book on each of the products. They don't skimp on explanations. The Dreamweaver book is 1064 pages! You can download the tutorial files from their website.

I am curious why you would move to the CS3 when CS4 is now available?

I'm learning CS3 at home via some online classes. Unfortunately, so many teachers are still at such a basic level of tech integration that CS3 apps would be too much to swallow. So I learn for personal use and to find educational applications for kids.
