Hello all,  

I am interested in discovering some new ideas or suggestions for assignments of various sizes for an online history or political science class, freshman/ sophomore college level.  I already use a few ideas, but I am looking for some way to engage students more than I already do.

I like the "Flip Thinking" concept although the content of the video would be the key. A video lecture of the teacher would make me want to poke my eyes out with a sharp pencil.  A narrated powerpoint would be a step up or better yet a learning object - i.e. with objectives, animations, lessons and interactive formative evaluations woudl be the ultimate in effective take home work.

I would be interested to hear other teachers thoughts on Reverse Instruction and Flip teaching. Do you find these methods of teaching and learning productive?

My school has a 1 to 1 laptop scheme and I am interested to hear about others. I have included a link here to my blog regarding benefits of a 1:1 scheme and implementing a 1:1 scheme http://wp.me/1cQjT
I am particularly interested in new innovative ways to use the 1:1 laptops and i-pads in the classroom or educational setting. I am also interested in Formative Assessment using digital resources.
