We are a 7th grade class studying the Constitution. There is a fantastic program sponsored by the Center for Civic Education that involves student research groups regarding various aspects of the Constitution. At the end of the day, the student groups appear before a mock Congressional committee where the hearing would take place and the committee would listen to the students' testimony with regard to the initial questions as well as impromptu questions asked by the Congressional Committee. The committee would be composed by teachers, community members, legislators, etc or whomever we can get to volunteer.
The Hearings can take place via Skype. Here is a link http://new.civiced.org/wtp-the-program/hearings/hearing-questions

Please email me at bmannix@greatneck.k12.ny.us if you are interested in collaborating on this.
