Collaborating for REAL Student Improvements!

As you visit/join this Distance Collaborations Group, you may want to give a few stats about yourself and your education position to let new/old group members know how they can collaborate with you.

Additionally, here's a terrific project where high school and college students can collaborate locally AND globally. There are infinite possibilities out there!

Just to let everyone know, Flat Connections is the portal for global collaborative projects, global live events and teacher professional development to take your classroom global. Don't forget to put the Flat Connections Conference on your calendar - June 18-20 in Sydney, Australia - a life-changing event for teachers and students!

Hi there. Am very interested in Distance Collaborations.  Currently do arts-based teacher professional development in face-to-face but we are developing online resources and an LMS to support them.

Am personally working towards my Master in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on E-Learning so eager to connect.

Hi, All
Thought this group might be interested in our free webinars: Global Learning for Educators. Hope you can join us!

Hello everyone in the Distance Collaborations group. Delighted to find rich discussions and sharing of opportunities for local and global interactions and meaningful collaborations. We are about to launch a number of Flat Classroom Projects in September and particularly want to encourage non-USA classrooms to consider joining us. We have projects for K-2, Gr 3-5, Middle school, and High school, some of which e.g. Digiteen and Eracism, are available for MS and HS. Follow the links to full details about each one, including information about subscription rates. We are willing to discuss some subscription scholarships to encourage cultural diversity within each project. Please contact me to discuss further and if you have any questions. Remember: When you go flat, you never go back! Good luck everyone!

Oh, and good luck to Aaron Maurer (comment just below mine) who is one of our Flat Classroom Certified Teachers and is the very FIRST project to be registered on the Flat Classroom Project Databank. Do you have a great project? Then come and register this on our Databank and we will help you publicize it!

Just throwing this out there for everyone. I have just opened up an online project studying bald eagles. My classes are going to be doing some amazing things on top of the online portion to share with others that are interested. Check it out and consider joining - http://eagleeyecamera.wikispaces.com/

@Marie, I can help out. Let me know what types of projects/topics for the students and I will coordinate something with a teacher or two in my building. I work in grades 6,7, and 8.

Hi Marie!
Do you have the capacity to videoconference (not Skype). If so, I may have a high school that would be interested in partnering with you.

Hi, I'm an English teacher working at an integrated junior high and high school in Tokyo, Japan. I'm looking for global parters (inside or outside of the US) who are willing to have collaborative lessons / projects with my Japanese students. I'm thinking about doing joint research projects or exchanging presentations about each country, but I'd love to brainstorm any kind of lesson plans with you. (By the way, I'm now teaching 7th and 10th graders, which means 13-14&15-16 years old students.)
If you are interested in please let me know!
