I'd love to start collaborating. I just don't know where to start with my third grade class. Suggestions?

Monica,

What has happened since January 21st with us is that the Spanish teacher successfully paired one of her classes with a class in Barcolona.  The second class couldn't seem to find a class to pair with, so they have joined in on the same project.  I'll speak with the teacher involved and see if she'd like to break that class off and pair them with you instead.  What we are doing is "digital story telling"--they are creating videos on varioius subjects--most related to our culture, and plan to exchange them with the class in Spain.  To see what we have done so far, go to http://digitalstoryproject.weebly.com/index.html  We are listed as "Chesapeake'" on theWeebly site, and "Arcadia High School" on the Wetpaint site.  I'll see what she says--I'm a technology integration specialist and have no students of my own.

As a former history teacher, when I think of Portugal what comes to mind is Prince Henry the Navigator, the Papal Line of Demarcation, and Brazil.  One factor that may influence Mrs. McAvene's decision are the differences between Spanish, which her students are learning, and Portugese, which they are not.

Hi Larry Blodgett! I'm a teacher form Portugal, just next to Spain! Would you be interested in having your students work with my group? I am involved in a project in a Secondary School regarding the use of social networks to increase and enhance the use of a foreign language. My group is made up of 27 students, between 15-18 years old. i am looking for an opportunity to find a foreign group (english learners or speakers), and get them to change experiences. What do you think? Could our projects match? Hope to hear from you!

I an an technology integration specialist on the Eastern Shore of Virginia (USA).  I have a Spanish teacher who would like to find a class of English language learners in Spain, Mexico, Puerto Rico, or Argentina to do a joint project with.  Specifically, she is interested in having her students work in groups to create digital stories.  These stories would be created by the students with the intent of teaching others about the area we live in and our culture.  She would like to find a class in one of those countires who would do the same thing.  We could have students exchange emails as they progress on the project.  This idea comes from epals.com, and I expect we would use that site to cooridiante our efforts.

Let me know if you are interested.  This is a group of ten students who are 15-18 years old.

Looking to possibly do a Holidays Around the World Project with my 5th grade class where we link up with classes around the world that can SKYPE call and share about their traditions for December related Holidays. If there is anyone out there that would be interested in setting something up please message me and let me know. I haven't attempted this project before and would love to see how it turns out. having students learn about different cultures to enhance their Global Awareness would be very interesting. They would keep track of their visits as well.

Hello. I have started my project, "FACE IT-TRACE IT-ERASE IT" again for our second year and third session. We are now financed by the International Rotary Club who will be purchasing trophies and certificates for students that finish the project, We are in 5 continents and have over 300 students participating. I'm looking to collaborate with a 5th grade class outside of Michigan. I'm interested in researching local or global issues and writing position pieces to be sent to appropriate leaders in the community or nation, with the emphasis on effecting positive change. Any takers? Anyone know where else I might look for interested parties?
