First Scope and Sequence- help!

I am going into my first year of teaching pre-K and feel lost on where to start with my scope and sequence.  I am blessed to have the liberty to create my own and tailor it to the needs of my class but am nervous about doing things in the wrong order and not getting all of the standards properly covered.  I have started to ask around and have been told that it just takes time.  This is true I'm sure but I want to do the best I can for ALL the students I teach, including those from my first few years. 

What advice do you have?  How do you begin to plan for your first year of teaching?
