Howdy, all! We're building a ning network for teachers & students who want to create comics and exchange them with other groups around the world. Here's the site:

Feel free to join up and create a group for your area....

I'm the lead teacher for a cultural exchange comics & literacy program between New Hampshire, USA and Matagalpa, Nicaragua. Here's the link to that program on my website:

I'd love to hear from other teachers using technology and artwork for literacy, storytelling, and community! What are you doing out there?

We've started using photography as a launchpad for 2nd-graders to write! I'll post our field trip as soon as permission slips are in... We're also going to have students use their own artwork later to create digital storytelling with their own personal narratives.
Very cool... As it happens, I just met THIS WEEKEND with a photographer who just got back from a year in Argentina, teaching with photography as an entry point for writing about one's life and community. (Words and images combined to tell stories, just like in comics!) Hopefully she'll post some of her students' work to COMICS INTERNATIONAL. Love to see what your students come up with, too...
