A preschool class in Maine is involved in a construction project using iPads.  We would like to network with other early childhood classrooms using our classroom iPads on the construction of buildings in their region.  Please respond to this discussion post if you have any interest.

Have anyone used videolicious on their iPad to help students with written expression?  I have seen it in a demo, but have not used it myself.  I know that it allows students to verbally express their ideas before the writing process begins.  Does anyone have more insight to this program and how they use it to teach the writing process?

If there is one extremely important thing I have learned about iPads in the classroom it must be accountability. I create lists of those who wish to take notes on them and those who want to use paper. The vast majority use paper. Every class I I have has a notes check on Fridays, no iPad notes, no grade, and no more priviledges to use it for notes this has made year two a huge improvement.

So the second year of our 1:1 iPad initiative has begun with the renewed spirit and consistency of our teaching staff I feel this year will be an amazing year of growth and effective technology in our classrooms.  I hope to add to the discussion as time goes on and answer questions for those that have them.  Have a great school year.

I use quite alot of the itunes U resources. Some of the providers have been generous in letting me use their material in some of my vodcasts and ebooks after I have contacted them.

Nearpod is a great app, a truly interactive app that teacher and student can use together.

I'm glad to hear that some folks are interested in the product.  I recommend trying out other apps in the store that let you share ideas with your students as well.  A quick search revealed GoClass.  I do love the polling feature, though, on Nearpod.

Here's a link to a blog post I wrote about NearPod as well! http://springboardmedia.tumblr.com/post/25113413555/pacing-presenta...

Thanks for sharing that info about Nearpod.  I'd never heard of it, but after reading your blog, Heather, I'm going to check into it! Thanks :)

I have looked at Nearpod, interesting concept and it seems usable so I will be testing it out.
