Here's the direct link to several drawing tools. If you are allowed to install software (or get it installed by the IT department), the two Jacqui mentioned are great. If not, then try the online only ones.

Hey, Renee--a good free drawing tool for K-2 is Tux Paint. Looks much like KidPix with as much robustness. For 5-8, you might consider Gimp. It's considered the free Photoshop. I get my fifth graders into Photoshop, but I have tried Gimp. I hear good things about it.

Hi guys

I teach K-5 technology at a small private school, I put a list of student-friendly websites together for my students to use during sponge times. It's organized by grade and topic. Feel free to check it out or add to it. I've collected these sites for over five years, and I'd love it to keep growing.

Check out www.gvccooltools.blogspot.com. It's full of free tools for teachers to use with students. I believe most of the drawing tools were added to the blog in 2009, but are still there and are easy for students to use.

Hi Everyone!
I've been teaching middle school math/science for the past 14 years and will now be teaching K-8 technology. I'm interested in an easy (and free) draw program that will allow us to export or save student work as jpeg (or similar) for putting into a slideshow with something like animoto. Any suggestions? Thanks! :-)

Hi there from Corpus Christi Salesian School in San Francisco, CA
I teach 4-5th graders and we are incorporating skype in our curriculum. We did a couple of video conference with other classes. The last one was when we celebrated the first Read Aloud Day the first week of March and teachers took turns reading aloud "Oh the Places We'll Go." The kids had a blast because two classes and two teachers from different places were interacting live.

It's been awhile since anyone has posted. I'm a tech teacher/coordinator for a K-8 school. I primary teach 6-8 but help the K-5 teachers in implementing technology.
