Hi everyone,

I was wondering what tools librarians use/recommend  to post/host resources with teachers?  I work at four elementary schools, so I rely on digital tools--screencasts, videos-- that I share with teachers. I am interested in any thoughts on best hosting (Google sites, Classroom, Blogger) for these materials when someone is at multiple sites and usually can't help teachers face-to-face (especially those who are not as comfortable with tech). Thank you!

Thank you!

Greetings everyone!  I'm very interested in Big Data and the search software such as hadoop, Splunk,, if you can find the digital/video recording of Dr. Dave Warner MD & PhD CRISIS THREAT ANALYSIS at Analytics2014 (maybe at or via ) you will see the most exciting visualizations of Big Data imaginable.

Any exciting research librarians getting together in the Washington DC area: I'd appreciate an email or invite and hope to attend!  Of course, webinars or even a do-it-yourself event via Skype would be cool too.

Does your school use Follett’s Destiny Quest? If so, you are going to LOVE this! There’s a great NEW resource out called Destiny Quest: An Educator’s Guide, which is a comprehensive tool for your classroom, school, or learning community to help get the most out of your Destiny Quest® experience!

This guide includes a simple step-by-step guide to understand the components of Destiny Quest®. As  IB educators, we have developed sample lesson plans that are inquiry-based, and follow the U.S. Common Core State Standards. The eBook also provides access to a website, which includes extension activities, printable worksheets, assessments and how-to videos.

The eBook is available on Follett’s TitleWave (#5161FB1) or via

If you know of any other educators or schools using Destiny Quest, please help us to spread the word via Facebook, Twitter, or any other network! Thanks!

Sorry it has taken me so long to repsond, I missed this posting!

I loved Keynote David Lankes - he is so empowering and encouraging - a must listen (!!) and of course Ray Kurzweil is always so interesting.

Hi collective librarian brains! I am in need of some info and hope you can help. Our school is looking into purchasing netbooks versus the traditional laptops. Our thinking is of course we can get more for the $$, but we will not be adding "software" to our netbooks - such as Tech4Learning Suite, Kidspiration, etc. They will only be used for Office creations, research and other online activity. Any suggestions as to whether or not these smaller devices are a good idea and/or how you store them would be helpful too!
Thanks in advance!!

I plan to listen to replays as time permits over the next couple of weeks. Would you recommend any particular speakers/sessions that are "must listens" ... especially from a school library perspective?

Hello everyone,
Really enjoyed the ebook summit put on by Library Journal. Anyone else participate? What did you think?
