What are the ways a teacher can use ilife or iwork in the classroom? I have made highlight movies of sporting events and field trips before but I consider to be more of a cool gimmick than a real educational tool.

Please give me some advice...

A friend of mine invented the concept of "From My life to iLife". Students create an iMovie, using photos and movie clips (iPhoto), of the major moments in their lives. Students then hyperlink their events with other major events in world history using

Students can compose their own music in Garageband that matches particular events. Possibilities are endless
We use iLife almost on a day to day basis for something here is a list of some of our projects w/ links...

I've also done video clubs and classes after school w/ iLife. Music Videos (iMovie-Garageband), Web Pages (export to folder on desktop-iWeb), Podcasting - Garageband, Storybooks - iPhoto, etc etc
You are very creative! I am amazed at what MAC has made possible. I wish I had these tools and ideas when I was teaching.

The purpose of the site I am slowly building is to have art history available for schools around the world. When I started this project there were only 4 pictures of prehistoric art. Take a peek and see how that has changed. ahaafoundation.org

After sweating out Dreamweaver I found iWeb a very easy way to create webpages. At the store one of your group could see if you might sign up for some of their one to one classes. Last year it cost $100 for a whole year. If you go to ahaafoundation.org you can see how I designed the page. With iWeb and Garage Band you can add voice overs I started some of this in my Egypt section because that was when I learned it.

IWeb would work with teams of students collecting pictures of a time and gathering scholarly articles.
Let me know, please if this helps kbolmanahaa@gamil.com so contact me.
Our students used iPhoto and iMovie to create a math concepts movie which included patterns, even/odds, parallel and perpendicular lines, etc. They first took pictures around the school illustrating the math concepts then created a movie with their still pictures and music. Our younger students have also created an ABC movie of our school using the same skills as the math movie.

We have also created "book talks" and school news videos to broadcast throughout the school. There are many ways to use iMovie and even our special needs students have found the software to be very user friendly.
