Gdai,
I work @ a primary School in Melbourne, Australia where all our kids from grades 4-6 have their own Macbook. I'm looking for another grade 6 class (11/12 yr olds) to do some authentic collaboration. Feel free to check out the schools website to get an idea of some of the learning that happens.

I am very interested. I teach 6th grade in Illinois. I am looking to have my reading/social studies class of 24 work with another class. Have you considered using ePals to facilitate the communication between kids?

Hi Heidi,
Thanks for the reply. I'm interested in getting the kids collaborating on a couple of websites....bookglutton and/or storybird. If you're not aware of these, check them out and let me know what you think. (I've got some ideas as to how e may collaborate using these sites)
Cheers

Hey Simon,

I just checked out bookglutton. It seems very cool and it think we could do some shared reading and responding. I love storybird. I gave a Web 2.0 for reading/language arts class presentation for my school district and it is one of the sites that I showed. I am excited to try using either of these for a collaborative project.

I am currently using ePals to collaborate with a class in Oklahoma USA and will start a collaborative project with a class in Sunnybank Hills State School in your country as soon as school begins there next week.

If you have not looked into ePals it is pretty cool and FREE!

Looking forward to hearing from you,
Heidi Morgan
Hi Heidi,
I've collaborated with schools in Japan, Canada and the UK and have used ePals with a couple of these schools. I'd love to have the kids write stories together using storybird. If it's easier my email is shaw.simon.c@edumail.vic.gov.au and i'm on skype @ ssshavian.
Are there any other web 2.0 reading/lang sits you think are worth a look??
Cheers
Simon
