After attending a one day workshop on effective class room walkthroughs, I began to wonder how these are used in other schools and districts.
The whol concept of this workshop was to streamline the walk through to be about 2-3 minutes for data gathering. These are not intended to be assessing or evaluative. The data, which is 5 items, is to be collected and used for questions to be posed to grade levels, teams, departments, or even at faculty meetings. These questions would be the basis of change and professional growth.
Does anyone use walk throughs in this manner?
Does anyone do a wlakthrough looking at specifics like literacy or questioning strategies?
