Jennifer,
Are you saying the children do not have computers of their own or are there no computers in the school they attend? Does the teacher have his or her own computer at home or school?

Jennifer, What do you mean by limited. We are working in third world countries (eg Philippines, Cameroon, DR Congo) where there may only be one computer that is in an Internet Cafe.

How limited are the schools you are considering?

I'm studying to be a teacher. I was just wondering how tech would be used for the schools who are limited on their resources.

We have been using online teaching since 1990 when a teacher brought her own Apple II computer with 1200 baud modem to have her students email with students throughout the world. The web had not even been invented.

What can you use? One project we have is the Archive of Legend and Myth where students create web pages on a local or national myth. Stories from grandparents. This can be pure text or multimedia. There products will be available and better than hanging on a refrigerator. How about simple emailing to students throughout the world. We have contacts in Pakistan, Ukraine, Ireland, Africa, etc

Get teachers started on Diigo.com so that they can begin to identify useful online resources.
