Project Global Inform

Information

Project Global Inform

(PGI) is an in-school project where students use media to spread awareness about human rights violations. PGI came out of the idea that we too often “teach” our students about genocide and human rights violations, but never “do” anything about it.

PGI September Launch

Project Global Inform is launching as a non-profit organization this fall, with the goal of signing up at least 25 classrooms worldwide for the 2010-2011 school year. PGI has been successfully piloted at Wissahickon High School (2008-2009, 2009-2010) and is ready to let students impact the world around them.

If you are a teacher interested in running a 2, 4, or 6 week project based on genocide and human rights violations, please join this group, visit the website, and download the curriculum. All questions can be directed to info@project-inform.org.

Alyx,
It could definitely work for a computer class trying to apply the software/media/technology learned in a meaningful way. Let me know if you want any more info!

That sounds awesome Monika. I am in the process of finishing up the details for a two, four, and six week unit/curriculum for PGI. They should be up on the site within the week, but please feel free to email me and/or inbox for more information!
