Hello folks.
Just thought I would start the ball rolling.
I started using Prezi early in 2009 and have completed around 15 'Prezis' in that time - mainly for my Science classes.
When I start a unit of work (for example, "Basic Chemistryl"), I place the unit name in the centre of the page and then place key ideas (Atoms, Matter, Elements etc.) around it.
Go here: http://prezi.com/v7tc0omcqq6c/ for an example of what I have done.

When you get there, you will see the following screen:

If it looks like a mind map, you are right. This is how Prezi works. I can now click on the word "Elements" for example and the screen zooms in on the "Elements" title, like this:

Hopefully this shows you what it can do. If you don't like the Scientific nature of this presentation, click on the "Showcase" button at the top of the prezi.com screen and you will see a variety of examples there.

If you want more information, go to the prezi.com site and try it out first - it's free for anyone (and it has a free educators option as well). Then come back here and I will happily answer any questions.

I am going to start using Prezi this fall and am excited about it. It's a LOT to wrap my mind around to start with though. I'm so bored with Power Point and I think the kids are too. I get a LOT of plagiarized material when we use Power Point and then have to deal with those issues - this type of more creative presentation might lead them away from that kind of regurgitation.
