Blended Teaching/ Learning Stream for Virtual Worlds - Best Practices in Education Conference

Hello Everyone,

This is a shoutout for the

Blended Teaching/Learning Stream at the VWBPE conference

The conference will be held in Second Life from Friday March 27 to Sunday March 29. I'm on the committee for the Blended Teaching/Learning stream and we are looking for proposals:

Blended Teaching/Learning: The focus of this stream is the use of virtual world technology to enhance/augment face-to-face courses and showcase ways that virtual environments are connected to RL – as well as ways that other media can add value to the virtual world experience.

The formats are:

Full Paper: 50 minute presentation
Brief Paper: 20 minute presentation (work in progress)
Roundtable or Panel: 80 minutes
Tutorial: Maximum 2 hours
Demonstration: Maximum 2 hours

Deadline 2/28/9

If you have any questions, please let me know. There will be training and mentoring for people new to Second Life. This conference in 2007 was my first solo foray into SL and I spent the whole week practicing how to sit. So instead, I ended up walking into a presenter while she was doing her presentation.

If you've got SL figured out and you want to help out with greeting, mentoring, etc. - please contact me about that too.

Thanks,
