I would like to start this discussion by asking a question.  Why is it that in most cases the focus of Lifelong Learning programs for Seniors (50 Plus) throughout North America and the UK is in the fields of Liberal Arts (Arts & Humanities) and General/Bio Sciences and little or no attention is given to Financial Education, Financial Literacy or Entrepreneurial programs?

The severe downturn in the US economy will probably require a large proportion of Seniors (50 Plus) to supplement their fixed income pensions.  This would necessarily give more importance to Business and Financial Education in order to equip seniors to earn multple streams of income to replace the lost income in the Real Estate and Stock Markets.

Why is there a disconnect here?
