The only conclusion that I came up with regarding the author's inclusion of this chapter, is that she basically discredits all of the brain based research. I found it very interesting that in the 1800's men tried to prove that women were intellectually inferior due to their frontal lobes being smaller. I found it comical that when this proved to be incorrect they quickly "revised" their assertion and said the parietal lobes of women were smaller, not the frontal lobes.
