The Trouble with Boys Chapter 12: Thinking with a Boy Brain

1. Since despite the scientific evidence of differences in brain functioning, the author does not decisively make recommendations about applying information in our classrooms. Why do you think she included this chapter?

The only conclusion that I came up with regarding the author's inclusion of this chapter, is that she basically discredits all of the brain based research. I found it very interesting that in the 1800's men tried to prove that women were intellectually inferior due to their frontal lobes being smaller. I found it comical that when this proved to be incorrect they quickly "revised" their assertion and said the parietal lobes of women were smaller, not the frontal lobes.
