Greetings everyone! I am a Secondary Social Science Education major at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. I am eager to dive in and learn innovative ways educators are using technology in social studies classrooms all over the world.

I'm a high school social studies teacher and I love technology, so I'm excited to see what people have to share. I focus mostly on American History and Government and Civics, but I've taught World History in the past.

Hello.  My name is Evonne.  I am currently in the first year of my program at University of North Carolina at Charlotte.  I am hoping to learn ways to hit the ground running with my class.  I will be graduating  in 2014 with my B.A.  in Middle Grades education with a concentration in English & Social Studies and a B.A. in Social Work.

Does anyone here currently have distance learning in your school or district? I am looking to bring it to my school district and need to present to the board. I taught social studies for 35 years. Starting in the early 1980's I was fortunate to acquire my first classroom computer lab. Through the years it was upgraded. When I retired in 2005 my lab consisted of 32 student work stations, my own intranet, plotter, presentation monitor etc. I taught GIS and incorporated technology into my history classes. I abandoned textbooks in the early 1990's and based my teaching on a series of U.S. and World History PowerPoint's. Two years before I retired I began professionalizing the PowerPoint's which led to a small company
