Here are some excellent sites with free tools and ideas for integrating technology into the classroom:
4 Teachers.Org - 4Teachers.org works to help you integrate technology into your classroom by offering online tools and resources. This site helps teachers locate online resources such as ready-to-use Web lessons, quizzes, rubrics and classroom calendars. There are also tools for student use. Discover valuable professional development resources addressing issues such as equity, ELL, technology planning, and at-risk or special-needs students.

PBS Teachers - PBS Teachers provides PreK-12 educational resources and activities for educators tied to PBS programming and correlated to local and national standards.

Scholastic Teachers - View lesson plans, booklists, and educational products for children grades Pre-K to 12. Classroom materials include online activities for kids, printables, and much more.
And finally....
Wired Wednesday - Wired Wednesday (WW) is about learning and sharing classroom technology and ideas. It is a forum for educators, leaders, and technology specialists in K-12 education. At WW you will be able to share and discuss with fellow educators new software programs, websites, tools, and theories related to the teaching profession. Also, listen to the Wored Wednesday Pocast. Thought members might be interested in some of the arts integration and technology integration links/resources at my profile.

Many of the social studies activities incorporate popular music and character education.

Hello fellow social studies teachers,
I am an 8th grade US History teacher in CA and utilize technology in my classroom frequently. I have 35+ Mac laptops and a Smartboard. My students are currently creating podcasts on topics of the week and I maintain class blogs for each of my classes with intentions of turning the show to the students. I am interested in ideas of utilizing the resources of Web 2.0 some of which I use such as mystudiyo and VIZU for surveys.
