I wanted to ask this group if we should retire the posted date on calendar listings. It was initially designed to help designate when an assignment is 'assigned' but we have gotten regular feedback that the listing of this date on the calendar only provides clutter.

We are always reluctant to pull back a 'feature' once it is in place, but if we get no voices in support of this feature then we are going to go with the popular movement and let the posted date be 'retired'.

Your thoughts? Keep the feature or let it go the way of the dodo?

The main thing that people are concerned about is when it's due. When it's posted is superfluous in most cases and I agree, it only adds to the clutter. The cleaner the better!
I really think that the posted date can be confusing to to parents and can cause some teachers to be more reluctant to post assignments. What most users need is just the date due. In the past I have posted assignments and then back dated the assigned date so it doesn't show up on this years calendar.
Hello all,
Just to close out this discussion, we removed the posted date with this last revision due to the feedback posted here and from other sources.

Thanks so much for helping us figure whether or not the feature should have been kept.

As always, with much appreciation,
-Bryan
I don't think any of my teachers would have an issue with doing away with the Posted date. It does clutter the calendar.
What I would love to see is a way to color code various assignments or events. This would be extremely helpful for our high school and middle school teachers who have varying schedules.
