I just read a great article on
Edutopia News called
Lighting the Way in which photography is a revelation, and a learning tool, for visually impaired students.
Seeing beyond their sight, these teenagers used sound and skill to click and shoot when they were prompted by the "sound shadows."
I love to read stories like this. When I ski again this winter, I'm going to talk about this story with my blind students. (I'm an adaptive ski instructor) Having a blind skier use his/her camera on the slopes would make for an interesting photo journal.
