Download You Tube Videos to use in iMovie

Hi!  I am searching for advice from anyone who has successfully downloaded videos from You Tube. I've googled several ways (such as downloading TV Tube and Get Tube and various converters) but have not had success with any of them.  So... I thought I'd check in here to see if anyone has any experience in this area.  Thanks in advance for your time.  ~Jodi
