Hi everyone...I'm having trouble with the inking feature on VT. When I view an inked comment I made on a PowerPoint slide, ALL the inked comments from other slides appear. Has anyone encountered this before?

Also...

When going through a PowerPoint on VT, I know how to pause the slides from changing, but is there any way to stop the comments from disappearing? The best I can come up with is continually clicking on the person's icon.

That aside...

If anyone is interested in checking out a VT on 'The Poisonous Mushroom', you can check out http://voicethread.com/?#u1023506.b1273153.i6840304

I've used it in my Holocaust and Human Behavior class and the kids do well in discussions of propaganda and indoctrination of youth

Derek, I've never had that problem before and I think confused on the 'inking'. Is that the Doodle Tool in Voicethread that people comment on your PPT slide with? I'm envisioning that you uploaded a PPT presentation and people are using the VT doodle tool to comment on each slide? You can click the white circle inside the color wheel to make the doodling stay, but I've never had it last for more than one comment, let alone slide. I think I'm confused there.
For the other ? when the next comment appears I think the last comment(which may be doodling again I'm assuming) does go away for the current comment. I don't think you can keep it there. For that, you may need to use other software to keep the comments there (like Google Docs for instance, I believe you can write in there now...correct? New Drawing feature might help???)
Good luck.

I'm anxious to hear the responses to this post. I am a novice VT user so I'm sure I have a lot to learn. But last year when we tried to use PPTs on VT, we couldn't get it to work properly ....
It looks as though people can comment using the doodle feature in PowerPoints...but only on one slide - otherwise, all the doodles appear at once from that user.

The bigger issue, I think, is that VT doesn't really suit online dialogues about a particular image. It seems as though someone can make multiple comments, but they're all bunched together under one icon. You can't follow a logical 'back and forth between students.

Am I right about this or perhaps I'm not proficient enough yet...
Is there a link to view the doodle thing you're talking about?
I do understand the online dialogues under 1 icon, but it still comes in the same order that you comment. Like on this one on Lois' blog. The first three icons comment, then the first icon makes a secondary comment, but at least their in the order you commented: http://berwicklodgeps.globalstudent.org.au/2009/05/29/stellaluna-by...

Good luck, I hope that makes sense.
