An Act has been brought forth in the United States that if enacted could make school classroom computers much safer for youths.

The Act would essentially block social network and chat sites from use in schools, unless for educational purposes and under direct supervision of a teacher. How effective do you think the Act would be in safeguarding kids online? Also, do you think the cause is worth the sacrifice of social networking sites, which are used as educational tools? Many teachers use wiki and blogs as a critiquing and editing tool.
