About Me
...So you're interested in knowing a little more about me? Wow! Time must really be on your side. OK, here we go. I am 5 foot 8 inches tall with brown hair and blue eyes. My likes: cool summer evenings and boat rides. My dislikes: people with no sense of humor & humor with no sense of people.

Oh, that wasn't what it meant when I was to introduce myself... my bad. Seriously, I am proud to say that I'm Wilson's 6th Grade Social Studies Guru & Technology Wizard.

    Hi Doug,

I taught math for 10 years at a 6th-8th grade middle school in Hays (Felten Middle School), Kansas. I need to hook you up with one of the social studies teachers from there...they love to do new and innovative things.

Hi Doug & thanks for the invite. Tomorrow will be our last day of school here in Finland - hooray! I liked the slide show that you had put together of your pics. Like you, I'm really into water sports :-) I'll follow your good example one of these days and put together my own. Cheers, P

Hi from the Sunshine State! I live in Daytona Beach and teach middle school exploratory technology in DeLand, FL (home of Stetson University). Exploratory Tech is a Synergistics program from Pitsco. It is a modular based multimedia delivery system that includes modules in CADD, Digital Video, Audio Broadcasting, Computer Graphics and Animation, Robotics, and Flight Technology to name a few. A better name for the class might be Tech Toys, but don't let the bean counters know. In my past life, I was a Technology Resource teacher in Key Largo, FL. I am happy to be here!

You got me there! As librarian, as well as teacher, I encourage reading by "catching people reading" every fall and spring. The primary kids love to wear those "I got caught reading" signs. Then they get a chance to win prizes at the end of the week.

Impressive water skiing and photo - hard to say who is more talented the skiier or the photographer!

    Hey, another Ohio person!

I'm at Kent State U. I am the library director at one of the regionals, but I also teach courses in English and Ed TEch. I was just down your neck of the woods a few weeks ago to visit some of my old chummies. Talk later.
  • Mary Hricko

Well, us Ohio people need to hang out together. It works out for happy hour at state conferences (ha-ha).
When do you go back to school?
  • Adam Dugger

Yeah Mustangs are my first love... I have an 88 that I have had forever and a 99GT that I drive daily.

Thanks for the invitation. I like your dog! I have a Springer Spaniel, but my friend has a Golden who works as a school therapy dog. What a wonderful dog she is. This is her second one. The first one was a male and he was great with the kids. He recently died of a heart condition. He was deeply mourned by over 400 people. Enjoy the rest of summer.
  • Glen Coulthard

Thanks for the invite! I have a golden named Shasta -- a true ball fiend. "Anything to play catch, Dad!" Look forward to chatting soon.
  • linda

Hey Doug - thanks for the invite! I too love your dog! I have two goldens. The one in my pic is Phoebe and the other (her dad) is Nugget. I had a therapy dog in my classroom for a few years and absolutely loved it - I think he was more therapy for me than the kids though! :) I look forward to sharing ideas!
