    Hi
This is my chatter, I guess.
    blahblahblah

    Just checking things out.
    Kevin

Dogtrax, so nice to see you here!
  • Cheryl Lykowski

    Kevin,
I know you better than that. You always have something to say that's better than blahblahblah!
  • Cheryl Lykowski

2 new video podcasts are up on our website but I've had trouble getting them in to iTunes. One more time I wish I was using Mac. Check them out. I have a 2nd grade class connecting to a 2nd grade class in Texas for some collaboration.
  • Gail Desler

    Ah, Kevin, one more adventure:-)
  • Eric Hoefler

It's good to find familiar faces in this smallishly-big online world. Hope all is well up there in Mass.
  • Bonnie Kaplan

I like this one Kevin. Thanks for the push....keep it up.

No problem Kevin - just getting into the chat - I guess blahblahblah might sum up some of the stuff out there (smile) Paul

    Hi Kevin,

Thanks for dropping me a note to say hello. I loved your blahblahblah chatter... you are really speaking my language.

A writing teacher, eh? You are a brave, brave man! I teach one section of writing along with four sections of social studies. I'm always looking for new uses for technology in my writing curriculum. I hope to find some here.

Hope all is well in Massachusetts.

    Take care,
    Doug

does it feel like myspace yet?

Wanted you to know how much I love classblogmeister. It has a small learning curve for me - so I was able to open an account on Sunday and introduce it to my students on Monday. The kids love it. They've made connections with other fifth graders, I've connected with other teachers for possible collaborations next year, and the kids write on the weekends! I have been approving blogs and comments since Friday night. What more could a teacher ask?
  • kenrodoff

You are the first person to leave a comment on my page. That, good sir, makes you #1. Not very George Lucas-esque...unless we're talking Box Office numbers.

Interesting photo over there on the left. I am reminded of Voltron. I am also reminded (having had a similar hero suit) that the one enemy that can not be defeated is the dreaded Itch.

May I recommend nylon, spandex, or polypropylene?

    Keep on gerunding!

    Hi Kevin!
I read your blog and was excited to find that your 6th graders worked with claymation this year. My 4th graders did in a very adaptive manner. They used a digital still camera and loaded the images to PhotoStory, which worked fairly well. We are looking forward to more adventures with clay next year. Happy to be a part of Classroom 2.0!

I'm looking forward to seeing the movies your kids created as soon as edublogs is up and running again. We used Tech4Learning's Frames for the stop motion -- it was a very simple program for the kids to master. Before they compiled their claymation movies, they created a boucing ball movie, and they also used Pixie to learn how to create a series of image files and import them into Frames. By the time they had all their clay photos shot, they were very comfortable with the software, and in fact, two of my students in this group presented their projects at a regional tech fair and they really rocked! I'm still trying to figure out who had more fun, the kids or me, :D
  • Ellen

Eclectic is a good word for it :D
Interestingly enough, way back when I was in high school, I did plan to teach. I feel like I've come full circle to teach in the school I used to attend as a child.
  • Greg Noack

Thanks for the invite to Elementary School 2.0 I signed up immediately. I am new to web 2.0 but learning fast. I am looking forward to next year. It's going to be great!
  • Bob Sprankle

    thank you, Kevin!
  • ruthokoye

Hi! Thanks for the warm welcome...
  • Durff

Glad you liked it. I haven't looked at it since NECC
  • Shawn Kimball

Hi Kevin! I have tried to repair that link by editing the post, but it doesn't seem to work.

Here is the link for the Web 2.0 that I shared in a previous entry. Between this and wikipedia, I think web 2.0 is sufficiently defined. I wonder if we will jump to web 3.0 and what changes that will encompass.

Nice to have you in my social group.
  • Mark Clive

Thanks Kevin. I'm glad to be in the group.

That animation was great; especially the stick figure. What medium did they use for that?
  • John Maklary

Yep, that's me. It was late at night, wanted to mess around with GarageBand and voila, instant tune. I have a couple where I sing but I definitely will not post those! At that time, I was playing lead for a local bar band and also played Bass for a bluegrass band. I miss those days!
  • Amy Koegel

    Kevin-

Thank you for all the info and the encouragement. I will let you know when I try it out.
  • Marielle Lange

    Hi Kevin,

Thanks for your comments. I will send you the public beta along when ready. :-). I would be highly interested in knowing more about the book you mention on the left. The animation software doesn't let kids write up stories (this is for a fairly young public). You may be interested in checking up a similar project, for older kids adventure author.

Hi Kevin. Wonder what is going on in Clrm 2.0 that has your post about XOs repeating tens of times. Any ideas? Do you get the same view?
Mainly I wanted to encourage your wife to read the OLPC Web site to learn more about the initiative. Her feelings might not change but they make some compelling arguments for why this is a positive development. Since they strongly feel the computers actually belong to the children I'm curious about the difference these computers could make in the life of a family. What if a struggling family business had access to a computer for keeping basic business accounts? Or if families could stay in touch with members who have moved away? The OLPC Foundation doesn't talk up the community angle much but it really interests me. It will be fun to watch.

    Kevin-

Since you use edublogs for your blog I was hoping to get a little guidance. I am not really sure how to embed videos and podcasts or how to add buttons/widgets. The help videos didn't seem so helpful. Any ideas where to go for some tech help for a newbie?

    Amy :)
  • Amy Koegel

    Kevin-

Thanks for your help on embedding videos. How do you add buttons like "member of Classroom 2.0?"

    Amy :)

    Hi Kevin

Nice to get a message! I'm in my classroom. Thank you for presenting at our Job- a -Like day. I like this site alot. I don't have a My Space Page because I know how much time I would waste on it! I do like feeling connected to other people in the field. Hope you are having a nice day off. See you on Tues.
  • Paul Hardt

    Hi Kevin,
I requested you as a friend. Your profile of teacher, writer, musician & tech guy puts me in the same ballpark as you. I'll be interested in sharing info with you.
  • Connie Weber

    Hi Kevin,
The Monster Exchange Project is great! If you ever want to try some monster exchanging with us in Ann Arbor, let me know--or some other weird and creative collaborative exchange!
  • nancyteach

Thanks Kevin- we only wanted our last discussion to be somewhat guided by only our first year teachers in a public forum. We have a new post- I hope you have time to comment. I have asked our teachers to stay tuned in to your page!
  • CIndyLane

Kevin, I participated in your ABC voicethread...(the Letter F !!) I also play guitar (6 string yamaha since '72) and I'm delighted to share my web 2.0 words with you....

    Kevin,

I play an electronic MIDI keyboard for fun, and I like to compose music. I'm still going through everyone's blogs and trying to keep the details straight! Music technology is one of my hobbies.
  • Ana S.

Yes, thank you for your presentation. Hope you can see a game soon. There is alwyas tomorrow....
  • Sue T.

I need to be connected. I'm really glad I did this today.

    Hi Kevin
I love your Youth Radio blog. I am interested in setting up a Word press blog. Can you tell me what you are using and how you got started? Also, are you happy with Word press. How do you manage the podcasts? Are you paying for a space to store them?
    thanks
    Rebecca
  • Rebecca Pilver

    Thanks Kevin
I have used Edublogs. Why do you wish you started in Edublogs?

Speaking of ECSU, you may be interested in our Nutmeg project. We have collaborated with a class at the university. As part of their course work, they had to use Web2.0 tools to create book hooks and response to literature activities for our wikis. Here is an example of a book hook (scroll down to see the voki) http://nutmeg2009.sblc.wikispaces.net/MVP created by one of the students. It was a reading course, not technology. The professor is trying to integrate technology into her courses.

    Hi Kevin:

I know your offer to track down a library 2.0 site is months old, but I'd still take you up on it if you are willing. Pati
