I enjoyed coaching baseball for ten years / elem. age on up to college aged. I'm involved with bringing technology into schools. I've recently launched a free, fun and supportive (and safe) online community for teachers. If you are a teacher check it out! www.iteachtoo.com We've just reached the 475 member mark
...I also noticed your kayak picture immediately and thought, hey!, this guy is all right! :) I lived in New Hampshire for a few years and loved your neck of the woods a lot (went down I-91 to see friends in NYC), nice area! Have a great day!
With you're work in education technology, I recommend you take a look at Wiziq's virtual classroom and authorstream's power point presentation platform. Both are web based, have a bunch of features and free basic service.
Matthew, I went to Umass (class of 95). I graduated with a degree in German/History. I really enjoyed my time there -- I have fond memories of hiking along those lovely trails, and visiting Emily Dickenson's house. I also lived in Northampton, too.
My husband and I recently stayed at a bed and breakfast there a year ago. It was great -- just as beautiful, and laid-back as we remembered. NYC gets pretty chaotic.
Hi Matt! Hope you're enjoying the winter break. I was wondering if you, your educator contacts or students would be interested in participating in a Vocab Video Contest @ MIT university. We'd really like to make sure MA students get the chance to be involved. Please let me know. Thanks!
Hi Matthew- thanks for the invite. I'm new to this site and eager to see how other teachers are using technology. I'm a high school science teacher in South Korea. I'm currently very interested in learning more about teaching in on-line teaching.
Thanks Matthew. I coached baseball at private schools from 2002-2006 but after having a child and going public school I don't have time to now.
I'll check out your site. I have an Activ board that I don't use because I haven't had the time to teach myself. What do you think of that tool for middle school math teaching? Should I bother learning. Is there a quick way to learn -training book?-what I need to make it a classroom asset?
Thanks, Matthew, for the invitation to join your group. I am apprehensively excited about the opportunity and privilege to learn and implement more technology in my classroom. I am looking forward to trying iteachto.
Thanks for the invite. I teach elementary school physical education and am always looking for ways to bring technology into the gym, and ways to use technology to show what my students are doing in class. I am eager to look at you website.
Thank you... the race was great... could have done better, but overall... just great! I begin a summer physical education program (Fitness for Life) for 9th graders on Monday. This will be the first partial on-line/classroom/gym program offered for one credit (total of 14 days). Can you believe it?
I am developing software for kids that will help teach them to manage their time effectively and I am passionate about arts education and technology in education. I look forward to sharing ideas!
Hello, Matthew. I'm new to Ning. How do I leave and go back to blog posts?
I'm the principal at South Leake Elementary in Walnut Grove, MS. You look like you work in Maryland, right? How is your summer going?
Hi Matthew,
I work in a very large school district that has a huge gifted and talented program. Our school has four GT classes at each grade level, three through six in addition to a general ed population from K-6.
Thanks for the invite, Matthew. I'm looking forward to incorporating more and more technology with my 5th graders. (Re: the profile photo...I prefer a nontraditional profile pic...those are my first two rabbits, Max and Adrienne, both gone for several years now.)
Hi Matt,
I'm an ESOL teacher-and am currently taking a technology class (called G21 technology). The goal of this class is to learn how to integrate technology into our classrooms. I pull ESOL students in our county (goochland, VA) and don't have self contained classes. So, using technology is a must! I'll definitely check out your website for ideas on how to use technology with my ESOL students. Let me know if you have any innovative ideas too:)
Take care, Renae
Thanks for inviting me to your website. I look forward to sharing. I'll be teaching 3\4 transition this year and will be looking into consulting work in the future. Let me know how to utilize your site.
Thanks for the invite. I joined Elementary Reading Teachers. Now I just need to find the time to explore what others are doing and saying. Love all this connecting technology!
Thanks for the invite. Hope I have time for one more piece of technology. Between FB, work, and personal e-mail, there are not enough hours in the day!:)
Thask you for inviting me to your site. I hope to learn and share a lot because there are not enough hours in the day to stay on top of all the new cool technology toys.
