Thank you , Anne , for nice words, it is very important for a new-comer to be welcomed warmly :)
  • Rebecca Anne Bourgeois

    Hello!
I know I'm by far not the first to say this, but thank you for your kind and warm welcome. It's nice to feel integrated.
We don't commonly use video conferencing, blogs or other multimedia possibilities, because France is (as usual) lightyears behind in introducing these to schools. My boss, though, is young, ambitious, and forward-thinking, a great combination when it comes to upgrading school techniques. He has turned us into an experimental school, with the agreement of the French Ministry of Education, so in September we'll be among the first to use Moodle and all sorts of other things.
I'd love help, ideas, info, insight... on how to get started.
And yes, it is very beautiful here: 45 mn by car from the sea, an hour's drive from the Pyrenees, lost amid the vineyards, at the foot of a small "mountain" called the Alaric (1000ft ?) . I love it!

    Dear Anne!
I hope we will collaborate together.
I am just going to prepare some more detailed info on the eTwinning programme to let you and other colleagues here see/know what it offers - in general as well as through my experience.
It will take me a few days (hours in my free time), so be patient, please. I will try to do my best to introduce it as clearly as possible:)
    I'll stay in touch,
    Eva

Thanks Anne! I'm on vacation through June and I'm interning at Zoho Corp. I'd still love to speak to your class over the internet. May be a 10-20 minute speech :)

Please let me know what you think.
  • Shankar Ganesh

Yeah, I first used blogger.com and then I switched to my own domain after a year because of Blogger's limitations. I'm completely satisfied with WordPress now and I can't imagine switching to another platform.

I'm not that active now, because I think I'm either lazy or my creativity has busted :) but I'm trying.
  • Edie Jett

Thanks... I guess I just have difficulty navigating all of these sites.
  • Zartaj Waseem

Thanks for your message Anne, I sure do look forward to learning a lot here and sharing my experiences too.

    C ya around!
  • Professor Vigliotti

    Thanks!
I am really excited about all the new technologies in education. I am trying to streamline all the information and tools that are out there and I think this site is really helpful.
    Thanks for having me.

Hi, Anne! Glad to share the information. Here some for starting:
How to set up an account on Gogster Edu: http://www.youtube.com/user/glogster#p/a/u/2/qW5SSn9nno0
    How to work:http://www.teachertrainingvideos.com/glogster/index.html

    Good luck!

My bad! At the time, I looked at the wrong time zone for the US but was able to watch it this morning. I learned several new things so thank you. I can't figure out how to make columns in Tweetdecks, so hope I can participate in a future tutorial. I'm writing my dissertation on Web 2.0 in the classroom and am still learning about Web 2.0 myself - I'm a neophyte! I will eventually have an online questionnaire for my research so hope I can keep making connections to get some great responses from teachers worldwide!
  • Hugo D Gunawan I

Hello Anne! Thank you. glad to be in the web and glad to meet you...
  • Deborah J. Boyd

Sure do plan on sharing. You all are my cheerleaders. In working toward my PhD I am running into all sorts of resistance to technology. Technology is not the issue. The real issue is originality and creativity. We can look at a child and see how easily they explore and want to express themselves. BUT almost as soon as they are born they are met with NO and constantly told what not to do. Then when they are teenagers we wonder why they are disconnected.

Welcome to PBL~Better with Practice, Anne!

Anne, I work with a global non-for-profit IT organization. We work with schools in Australia too! Australia National University, for example, received one of our myCampus Portal Grants. So, please let me know if there is anything that I can do to help.

What kind of grants were you looking for? The portal grant is more like an intranet or a community website for your school with single-sign-on access for all of those other systems you work with in your everyday life.

Hi anne. Can we make it 12.45 this friday, japan time?. Which i think is 11.45 oz time. Gmail is blocked here, so can you send the link to mas-saki@sch.ed.city.kobe.jp we will have no students this time. We just want to see what we can and can't do for next time.
Do we need to download anything? Looking forward to it. Fingers crossed we hit no blocks!
    Cheers.

That sounds fantastic Anne. Thank you for dropping in and saying Hi. I would love to make the connections and establish the networks similar to what you have. But for now, it's all about immersing myself in the rich discussion that's happening here.
  • Dr Indrani Bhaduri

Hi Anne, that will be good. Please let me know the at what India time the discussions will be & the topics.
  • Cory Sheldahl

Anne, I don't remember thanking you for writing on my wall words of welcome...you certainly are a busy person! Could you direct me to a contact /forum that includes (free) elluminate-type classroom software ? Most of the free Adobe Connect and Elluminate software packs only allow a session of 3. I'm looking for something that's like Camtasia that can capture my face, while doing stuff on the whiteboard or computer (like Jing).
  • Ruth Holland

Thank you for your welcome Anne, about a month late. I am on a steep learning curve also. I am looking forward to learning in this Web 2.0 community. Any tips you can give are appreciated.
  • Erin Powell

Thanks for the warm welcome Anne! I love all your posts on blogging in the classroom. As someone who is just starting out, it is very encouraging to hear success stories.
  • Sally Wan

Hi, Thanks for your advice. :) Cheers from Sally

Thanks for the welcome Anne. Im looking forward to the GEC, look forward to presenting on Elluminate, should be interesting.
  • Jason Graham

    Gday Anne

    Love your GEC presentations.
  • Angela White

Thanks for your welcome comment Anne! I've just followed you on Twitter. I see you are an IT/ commerce teacher. Do you think that eventually we'll see the day when school happens exclusively online/ with handhelds/ laptops, etc? Nice to 'meet' you! It certainly is a wonderful thing to be able to network with other teachers and those in the education industry.
  • Jason Graham

    Gday Anne

I listened to your first session at the GEC live, the rest recorded. Sounds like you are doing some wonderful things in the country! I really like Elluminate Live! We will host a weekend workshop here in Indonesia for EARCOS schools, Id like to have particpants partake in a virtual pre conference session (s) so when particpants come from over Asia we have already made connections, disccussed issues etc.

    Hi Anne
I have set up a blogger.com blog for the first time and it looks good. However, my co-ordinator at school is concerned that anyone could put comments on it. Is there a way of setting it up so that I can monitor comments so that no inappropriate comments get onto it? Also, how do you get a map of the world that shows dots when people have come to your blog?
    Bernadette
  • Bernadette

    Hi Anne
Thanks. I've been able to set up my control of comments and have successfully loaded in a cluster map.
    Bernadette
  • Jason Graham

Anne, congratulations on the award! Im just listening to the recording of your Digital Toolbox presntation on elluminate with Britt Gow.
  • Bernadette

    Hi Anne

I teach at a Catholic school (Xavier), so I probably can't use the globalstudent blog. However, blogger.com seems to be working OK at the moment. I will get a better idea when I start using it with students next year.

  • Katerina Apostolaki

    Hello, Anne.

Thank you for the greetings, it's nice to meet you, too!

  • Caz Martin

Thank you so much for the welcome comment. Definitely made me feel a little more at ease. Still finding my way around and will eventually build up the courage to participate more. Thanks again :)
  • Jason Graham

    Hi Anne

    Happy 2010

Just listening to your Tech Talk Tuesdays Oct 18th 2010 Dig Toolbox on elluminate

.Im just wondering your take on the implemtation of tech in schools. Do you know of any good sites, authors, webinars that might give me further information on this. Im looking for something along the lines of 'lessons learnt' of what strategies work and dont work especially when dealing with administrators.

BTW hope floods have not reached you over there! I have a house in Pakenham.

  • SiQi

Hello Anne, thank you for the welcome note :) Have a pleasant day!

    Hi Anne,

Thank you for welcoming me to this learning community.  I look forward to connecting with colleagues.

  • Pauline Wilson

Thanks for the welcome Anne.  From what I have seen so far here at Classroom 2.0 I am sure I will learn such a lot as well.

  • Ismail Laaloua

    Hey Anne,

For some reason I never saw your note to me about Voicethread and the term "rookie". Rookie means first time doing something. You made me realize I need to update my profile. Also, I encourage you to look at a recent VT project I managed for a group of teachers,

    2011 VT Poetry Collaboration

Would love to see this project become even more international next year. This year we had a Canadian teacher and her 1st and 2nd year students comment but wouldn't it be cool to get our Australian friends involved?

  • Carolyn Pepe

    Annie,

Thank you for welcoming me.  I hope to learn more about classroom 2.0 and technology as a whole.  I am very interested in using a variety of technologies in the classroom.  Not just computers and the Internet.  I have great concerns about using the Internet in the classroom.  Internet safety is huge for me.  I want to learn more about using meaningful technology in the classroom to enhance students' learning not just using technology because it is new and novel.

Thank you, again for the welcome,

    Carolyn

  • Sandra Logan

Thanks Anne! I'm looking forward to it!
  • Abdelouahed OULGOUT

Thank you alot for the welcome.
I am sure my joining Classroom 2.0 is going to be a fruitful choice for me as a teacher of English. I am so interested in integrating ICT into teaching, and I hope I will soon find the way to create an e-classroom where students make use of the new ICT gadgets to maximaize and facilitate their learning. It's my hope, too, to make my teaching so easy, fruitful, and exiciting. Thank you.
  • junita

Hi Anne How do I get an invite to see Steve in Melbourne when he comes with Classroom 2.0

    Cheers

    Junita

  • Tracy Watanabe

Thanks so much, Anne. Again, I appreciate the tips on how to get started in such a "big place."
    Kind regards,
    Tracy
  • Sheri

Hello Anne! I think your edublog challenge is drawing many more members here. It certainly has brought me back. I always check for events, but haven't connected or blogged here lately. I always send people here to sign-up, and your challenge has encouraged me to add to the site, rather than just check it out. Have a great day.
  • Linda Shimon

Hi Anne, I tried for the first time in years to change my picture. Worked like a charm.  My question now, though, is I retired from teaching and would like to cancel my account. I have searched the web site and cannot find that procedure. Could you help me out? Thanks. Linda

  • Marian Dragomir

    hoped you enjoyed Romanians hospitality

  • Lindsay Hoag

    Hi Anne!

I am using Classroom 2.0 for my instructional technology course I am in. What was your reasoning for joining?
