Sharo Dickerson is the Virtual Learning Developer with the Instructional Technology Department in the Division of Academics. With her new responsibility, she works collaboratively with all counselors and lab managers (campus site coordinators) of 7 high schools and 4 special campuses, to provide targeted and high quality professional development, and to develop and implement courses to support the virtual learning environment in Ysleta Independent School District. With her knowledge of the "Train-the Trainer" model, she supports lab managers (campus site coordinators), online teachers, and and online course developers with the knowledge, skills, and tools to achieve student success.
Her professional experience includes being a classroom teacher at Colegio San Agustin in Makati City, Philippines from June 1997 to June 2002. She specialized in teaching reading and comprehension, and computer education in 5th and 6th grades. From August 2002 to 2006, she was the Campus Technology Coordinator of Tierra del Sol Elementary in Ysleta Independent School District.
In 1995, Mrs. Dickerson obtained her bachelor's degree in Commerce, major in Management with Management Information System at Assumption College in Makati City, Philippines, and graduated with distinction. She later obtained her Education Certification in 2000 at Assumption Graduate School. She completed her Master's degree on Educational Administration at Grand Canyon University online in 2010. She completed her certification in the Virtual Instructor Certification Program with Texas A & M University CDLR in 2009.
